written in august but edited tonight :) do you ever wonder how people become who they are?? wonder of their stories and where they've been? I was watching an elderly couple and i caught myself thinking ... "I wonder what they were like when they were my age...or even back in high school" Do you think that they ever saw where they were heading? well then that got me wondering... do I see where I'm heading? ... to tell ya the truth I don't care where I'm going but more about the journey getting there. am I kind to others on the way or do I scratch and punch to get to the other end? do i listen to others stories as much as i talk about mine? do i empathize with the broken and encourage the down-troddin'? ...because in reality it is not the things that we take with us but the relationships that we build. recognizing that in some cases we are only in the lives of some for a season, shouldn't that season be worth something?now all this bringing me to a point not of seeking this impossible perfection but to at least be aware and making an effort of some value. people matter and even in this world of such scepticisim and negativity the only way that we can leave a true and lasting mark is to give of ourselves and have a transparent heart. it takes way to much energy to be someone that your not. with the maturity gained through experience, and life lessons shared by our elders, we need to be like children again. laughing for no reason and be real. :) everything in life takes effort and time otherwise we sail through alone and bound. not fun if you ask me. ;) but you didn't ..lol. :) so where are you going.... where have you come from? jmm 8/21/07 |

Dearest Jeanette,
Welcome to the blogsphere.
How exciting to have you on the block. Thanks for sharing and again reminding me of the important truth that it doesn't matter what lies in our future - what does matter, in a huge way, is the journey of this day.
What we do with it makes all the difference.
Love you girl,
Jlo
The question is, in fact, "How are you going to get from here to there?" In that I mean how do you do it? Are you open to God working in and through you? How far are you willing to go in order to be available to the Lord and his mighty plan? How much are you willing to push the edge of your personal bubble or move your property fences to reach out to those around you. Sometimes it's just the neighbor and other times it's the young pregnant HS student at chruch. How uncomfortable will you be to do God stuff? Once we are willing to put our hard boiled egg in vinagar so our shell may once again become soft, then God will be able to move us easily (without fighting from us) to what He needs us to do. Be that prayer for others or actually praying with someone, and talking with them about God's amaizing love and grace. So, I think your question really ought to be, "Who will you touch today with the love of God? And how?" Remember that to some a card means the world while to others it's a good cup of coffee and a little chat. Everyones needs are different, keep that in mind with the gifts the Lord has given you. Sincerely (:
